Westville entertained Hilton at home on Saturday. The game started off a tense affair, with both sides playing tentatively, probing for flaws in their opponents defence. Hilton dominated the first exchanges but then Westville slowly eased into the game and started playing simpler, more effective football as the half progressed. This effort paid off and Westville broke the deadlock through a well -executed corner. Cole Bailey chipped the ball onto the penalty spot and Hilton only half cleared it, allowing Jama Mchunu to latch onto the ball and fire it into the bottom left hand corner.

Westville’s second goal came five minutes later through a free kick by Siphelele Buthelezi who fired in a hard cross to the near post, where Mbuso Ngobozi scooped the ball into the top left corner. Westville went three up and sealed the game two minutes before half-time. Again the goal came from a set piece. From a corner, Cole Bailey drilled the ball in towards the near post, towards Sihle Mhlamvu who followed through  and headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. The half ended with Westville 3-0 up.

Westville took their foot off the pedal in the second half, going through some phases of good football but also switching off at times. Hilton had a few half chances on a number of occasions but the Westville defence stood solid and the game ended goalless for Hilton. All in all it was good win for Westville, who are currently on an unbeaten streak.
