Westville’s Connor Osborne takes a basket for the home side. WBHS won the 1st team game 68-31

Westville Boys’ High hosted Hilton College this past weekend. All the matches between the two schools were closely contested and played in good spirit.

Westville’s first team had just returned from a successful tour to Johannesburg where they won  4 of their 6 games resulting in a very positive frame of mind for their clash against Hilton.

The day’s matches started off with the U14 age group. The majority of these players had only started playing Basketball a few weeks before, but they had begun to develop a good understanding of the game. The U14A’s won 28 – 12 . The U15’s also won all of their games. The u15A’s seemed to battle with their combinations and scraped through with a 16 – 12 win.

The U16A, B and C teams also had comfortable wins with the U16A’s winning 35 – 12. The 2nd and 3rd teams beat their opponents  41 – 11 and 42 – 06 respectively and the 1st team had a convincing final score of 68-31.
