FROM INCEPTO NE DESISTAM TO VERITAS

FROM WESTVILLE BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL 2016 TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY 2021

Our very special congratulations go to Sasasa Dlamini on his acceptance to Harvard University in the USA for 2017.

Sasasa excelled in his NSC exams attaining 7 distinctions. He was a member of the senior KZN Debating Team and was awarded the Leadership through Service and Trust Scholarship at Speech Night at the end of 2016.

Sasasa, who did not mention to his parents that he was applying, says that it is lengthy process to apply, and it took him six months to prepare his application.  This included four motivation essays, a Skype interview and the SAT’s test (which is the admission test for American Universities.)

He will be studying Economics and Philosophy and is passionate about finding new ways of creating jobs when he returns to South Africa.

Headmaster Trevor Hall said that he was not surprised Sasasa was accepted.  “It is not all about distinctions.  People with perfect scores have been rejected.  Sasasa is an all-round person.  He is a talented academic, achieving straight A’s; he was also very involved in cultural activities, he represented the school at provincial level in debating, and participated in many sports.”

This is an amazing opportunity for Sasasa, and we wish him every success in the years ahead.
