Dante Nortje

WBHS Swimming Captain Dante Nortje is congratulated on his achievement of Men’s SA Champion in the 5km and 10km Open-Water event held at Jeffreys Bay recently.

He takes over the mantle from famous WBHS old boy Chad Ho, who did not compete in the event this year. Despite his young age (17), Dante finished in a very creditable 3rd place behind two international adult competitors, Hungarians Daniel Szekelyi and Peter Galicz. The hard work that he has put into his training is certainly paying off. After his performances in the SA Championships and the international event in Mauritius, he has gained the reputation as one of the most promising open water swimmers in the world.
