- MPC -

The Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC) is located at the Dunbar Road entrance to the School, and overlooks Commons’ Field. The construction of the MPC, funded by a generous R6m donation from a private trust, was completed in 2006.

The rubberised floor area of 1030m2 caters for four Indoor Cricket nets and playing areas for various sports, including Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor Hockey and Indoor Soccer. School assemblies, prize-giving functions, parent/teacher evenings, career expos and choir festivals are also held in this venue.

The MPC is the home of the Charles Swain Memorial Bell, sometimes referred to as the Solitaire Bell. This bell is rung by each matric at the annual Speech Night and Prize-Giving. The bell previously stood at the entrance to the Roy Couzens Hall, which is today the Roy Couzens Theatre.
