The 1st team cricket result was a bitter pill to swallow considering how much of the game our boys controlled.

Ethan Matkovich won the toss and chose to bat first with the knowledge that batting 2nd is relatively tough especially with a bowling attack like ours. After being put on the backfoot in our batting innings, both juniors (Tristan Naicker and Mikaylen Kistna) had batted us into a position where we controlled the game and set a platform for batters to come, with the scoreboard sitting at 91/1 after 25.

After sitting down and having a set plan going forward in the next 25 overs, we collapsed and squandered the start we had,  to being 157/7 after 40 overs. Nathan Trevethan managed to hang in there and get WBHS over the 200 run mark with a very gutsy 35 not out, with the score ending on 207/8. This sparked a fire in our boys and they went out with a quick burst and managed to strike early having College 23/3 after 13 overs. College being a team that never backs down, had fought back and got into a position where they dictated the flow of play being 143/3 after 30 overs. Going into the back end of the College innings, our boys had found a 2nd wind and took 3 quick wickets and gave our boys a glimmer of hope, but it was a little too late, the damage was done and College claimed a 4 wicket win over us.
