The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.– Albert Einstein

After months of planning, careful preparation, and implementation, the WBHS Media Centre has been transformed into a new, fresh, aesthetic, highly functional and innovative space.
.
WBHS Media Centre Manager, Lynne Worth, recognized the need for a new and fresh approach when she took over last year. “The WBHS Media Centre renovation project began in the middle of the Covid pandemic. The shutdown of the Media Centre during this time was most unfortunate but necessary, and this gave us an opportunity to start planning a very long overdue Media Centre upgrade”.
.
She says this afforded the time and opportunity with a blank canvas, to design the new Media Centre. The WBHS Educational Trust, which through parent donations has funded many developments at the School, is responsible for the outcome of this project.
.
“My vision was for a multi-functional, flexible space. The Centre needed to be an area where the boys can work, research and read in a comfortable, quiet and clean environment. The Centre was also designed to maintain the corporate identity of the school”.
.
“We have dispensed with the banks of computers in the Media Centre in favour of a small number of high-end laptops which are CAD, 3D design and Photoshop enabled, and the idea that the pupils will be able to use their own devices in the Media Centre for school-work purposes and for printing”.
.
The space created has also allowed for a new and exciting projects, which will include drone flying, building and coding robotics. These will be introduced in the next few months.
.
“I trust the new Media Centre is going to provide a wonderful space for our boys. I am very proud and privileged to have been given free reign to run with this project and would like to thank Mr Graham Steele and Rev Alan Miller for trusting me with this”.
.
“ I would also like to thank each and every person who has provided input into all the aspects of getting this project completed. There are too many people to mention for fear of leaving someone out, but I am grateful to each and every one of them”.
.
*Thank You to parents who donate to the Educational Trust. Without this, this project could not have happened. We are grateful for these monthly and annual donations, which are tax deductible.
