Keegan and Jenna competing in the Open Section where they did a rock n roll tap.
During the Easter holidays, Grade 12 pupil, Keegan Barnes and his dance partner from Westville Girls’ High School Jenna Moodie, participated in the South African Championships for the Performing Arts in Rustenburg.
Competing in a category with over 1000 other participants, Keegan won 2 gold medals and a silver medal in the Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Lyrical dance categories respectively. Achieving gold at this Championship event is one of the highest honours that can be awarded to a performer of school-going age in this country, and the achievement is recognised internationally.
Keegan has been selected for the South African squad that will be performing in Los Angeles, California in the July holidays. We wish him every success.
