Following on from the smash-hit success of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and hot on the heels of this year’s critically acclaimed school’s production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth comes the latest offering from Westville Boys’ High School’s Performing Arts Department – a musical revue called YOU CAN’T STOP THE BEAT!
Featuring a performing cast of 80, and over 200 choristers from all of the local Westville schools, this slick Barnyard-style Film and Broadway Tribute show is guaranteed to astound you, with performances from classic stage shows like Footloose, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cats, Hairspray, and powerful contemporary interpretations of modern Hollywood masterpieces like Step Up, Pitch Perfect and Disney’s Frozen. Musically directed by Luke Holder, and choreographed by Fiona Barnes, featuring choreography by award-winning matric pupil Keegan Barnes, this is a show for the whole family and should not be missed.
YOU CAN’T STOP THE BEAT runs from Tuesday 12 May until Thursday 21 May. Every performance is sold as a supper theatre show – bring your own picnic baskets, refreshments on sale at the venue.
