msa PACKINGmsa packing 2The Westville Boys’ High School Muslim Students Association embarked on a project to distribute 350 grocery hampers to the informal settlement of Malukazi on Sunday, the 12th of July.

This is an annual project that was initiated in 2010 and has occurred every year since. This year, the Westville Boys’ High School MSA was able to raise more than R60000 in the form of cash donations and sponsorships of goods to create hampers that consisted of many necessary household items such as cooking oil, maize meal, sugar and soap. In addition, The Willowton Group, Africa Sunoil Refineries, Gold Keys, Clover, Frimax and Marcellos Cash and Carry sponsored various items towards the hampers.

The students spent many hours packing the individual hampers and the distribution was facilitated by Sister Honey Allee of the Islamic Medical Association from the IMA clinic in Malukazi. Each household who received a hamper was extremely grateful for the support that they had received.
