Westville Boys’ High School’s Drama Department proudly presents this year’s musical revue entitled SHAKE IT OUT!, a show highlighting the many dynamic facets of being alive in our ever-changing global context as seen through the eyes of South African teenagers and expressed through music and movement.
Using contemporary interpretations of classics hits such as The Who’s Pinball Wizard, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Bon Jovi’s epic Livin’ On a Prayer; and the ever-popular mashup remixes of current club hits like Starships, Edge of Glory and PSY’s 2012 smash-hit Gangnam Style, Westville Boys’ is again setting the standard for young performers in KZN. The show features a superb 12-piece band, outrageous special effects and an energetic, terrifically talented cast of 60 high school students, blending into a seamless synergy in this fast-paced, highly physical show.
Westville Boys’ High School has a strong tradition of charitable support, and this year the show is dedicated to The Rhino Fund, a school-based awareness campaign, and all cast members’ costumes will sport a green rhino’s profile to highlight this worthy cause.
The show runs from the 14th to the 25th of May. The 14th-16th & 19th, 21-23 May the show will be Cinema style seating and the 17th,18th, 24th & 25th will be Barnyard style (BYO picnic basket, cash bar only).
Ticket sales open on the 22nd of April, R80 Adults and R60 for scholars. The 14th of May is a Scholar preview show at R40 (only scholars IN UNIFORM are permitted).
