Westville Boys’ High School has completed yet another successful debating season. This year, one Grade 8 team, two Junior teams and two Senior teams were entered into the Durban Coastal Debating League.
Nicholas Herd, Sasa Dlamini and Reagan Naidoo, who were all part of the Junior 1 Team, were runners-up in the Junior Division. Nicholas was further awarded the Best Speaker in his pool, together with being the Top Speaker in the Junior Division.
Luke Milroy received an award in the “Top 5 Speakers” category in the Grade 8 Division as well as Best Speaker in his pool. In addition, Joshua Kloppers and Michael Krouwel were placed in 4th and 5th place respectively in the Senior Division.
Preparing for debates is a very time consuming exercise and we congratulate all the debaters who have spent many hours in preparation. Their hard work has certainly been rewarded.
