Westville’s victorious U14 team

Westville Boys’ High School won three out of four age groups at the KZN High School Age group Tournament held at various venues on Sunday the 10th August.

U14
The U14’s sailed through the group stages to top their group to go through to the semi final against Glenwood . The semi final against Glenwood was a closely contested game and went down to penalties with Westville winning it 3-1. This win took the U14’s in to the final against Kloof. Composure and gritt saw Coach McCauley’s young team win 4-1 on penalties.

U15
Cameron Mackay’s U15 team went about their business knocking out their opposition in emphatic style conceding only one goal throughout the tournament. The U15’s had a convincing 4-0 win over Kloof High in the final.

U16
The U16A’s had convincing games throughout the group stage, winning all matches to take them through to the top of the group. The U16a’s went down to a strong Port Shepstone outfit over penalties (2-3).

1st Team
The 1st team had two wins over Clifton and Port Shetone and a draw against Alex to take them through to the top of the group. This set up a semi final against Pinetown, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Westville’s fighting spirit and composure saw them edge out Pinetown 6-5, to set a final against Northwood whom they beat 2-1 the day before. The final ended in a 0-0 draw. Westville came out on top as Keeper Jesse Smith pulled off some fantastic saves in a thrilling penalty shoot out winning 7-6.
