Westville travelled in to Durban to take on one of their traditional rivals, DHS on their Old Boys weekend. It was the 50th anniversary of the fixture between these schools which commenced back in 1965.
The schools clashed in two winter sports codes: Hockey and Rugby.
Westville were convincing winners in the Hockey code winning all six games to claim a clean sweep. The A teams won in convincing fashion: 1st Team won 4 – 1, the 16A won 7 – 0 and the 14A won 5 – 0.
In Rugby, DHS were far more competitive, winning the 16A game 12 – 5 and the 15A game 26 – 21. Westville were dominant overall winning 11 of the 14 fixtures on the day. The 14A recorded an emphatic win 52 – 0 and the 2nd team returned to form with a comfortable 26 – 0 win. The 1st team continued their winning form with a 20-12 victory to end off another successful sporting day.
